Daily Oklahoman Features Bendy Tree!
In case you missed the Oklahoman a few Sundays ago, I was featured with two other app developers on the front page of the life section.
The article Get Appy: You have an idea for an application for your iPhone. Where do you go from there? by Lillie-Beth Brinkman gives great instructions for turning an app idea into reality.
And from the looks of things, I should’ve worn a suit. Whoops....

The Journal Record Features Bendy Tree!
Back in February I was featured a Journal Record article along with Brian Clubb from Bubblesort Labs and Reese Travis from The App Well.
The article was written by Brian Brus and it focused on what roll the iPad would have in the business environment.

Weather Dashboard Waits for Debut
Weather Dashboard is the iPad version of Today’s Weather. It’s got beautiful background images that correspond with the current weather and the time of day. Plus it’s got all the great weather data that you’re used to from Today’s Weather.
It was submitted to Apple late Saturday morning and is still waiting for approval.

Lots of Updates for Both Today's Weather Apps
Today’s Weather Lite & Pro both recieved a number of updates in the last 24 hours.
As previously mentioned, the graph has been much improved to show attractive curved lines, the percent chance of rain, and a legend.
Push notifications have been refined (a number of issues have been resolved, most were bugs). Also, if it’s time for you to get a push notification and the weather...

Fancy New Graph With Rain Prediction
Today’s Weather Pro just got a turbo boost of usability… the graph now features curvy lines and even shows the percent chance of rain throughout the day! What more could you ask for?
Check it out by searching for “Bendy Tree” or “Today’s Weather” on Apple’s iPhone App Store.
Thanks WeatherReview for the Great Review!
Thanks to WeatherReview for the great review on the brand new iPhone app “Today’s Weather Pro”!
This is my favorite weather app. It shows everything you normally have to dig for with the weather app or weather bug and even compares it to yesterday for you - which you would naturally do anyway. It will even give you the hour that rain is most expected that day. Why other weather...

Now We're Really Live - And Working
Both Today’s Weather apps had some hickups that made me pull them as soon as they hit the app store a few weeks ago. One line of code and 9 days of app store reviews later, both apps are live!
Here’s a link to the pro version:

The pro version has a graph and push notifications and...

Scratch That - Today's Weather Waits...
Today’s Weather (Lite & Pro) launched this morning, but I’ve just removed them from the app store. There appears to be a bug that shows a white screen the first time the app is loaded and I don’t want people to be instantly irritated/unable to use the app.
What’s weird is that the bug got through not only my personal QA but also through Apple’s. Weird.
I plan...

Today's Weather Goes Live!!!
Three and a half weeks of sweating out the App Store approval have come to fruition. Today’s Weather Lite (free) and Pro ($1) go live tomorrow (Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009).
A week ago the app was rejected because Apple didn’t like the way I was linking to the pro app from the lite version. After a quick change and another week of waiting, they’ve both been approved!

Today's Weather Seeks App Store Approval
Bendy Tree’s latest iPhone app “Today’s Weather” has began the approval process in the app store. It’s been preceeded by three other Bendy Tree apps (GeeVee Phone, Boss of Toss, & LoveTap), only one of which has made it through the gates.
Today’s Weather is a simple weather app packed with great features. While the app store is nearly saturated with...

Upgrade to LoveTap 1.1 Now Available
The upgrade to LoveTap 1.1 is now available in the app store! This version is built to install on iPhone OS 3.0 (instead of 3.1 only).
This update also is optimized to find the user’s location faster so you can spend more time tappin and less time “searching for your location…”!

Five Days and Tappin Strong
So we’ve been going strong for five days so I thought the masses might be interested in some stats. In the first 5 days, LoveTap has:
28 App Store Ratings averaging 4-stars
12 5-star full text reviews (thanks!)
Nearly 500 App Store downloads!
600 Taps!
View a graph of downloads
Of course, the graph is going down but I’m actually blown away by the results. I figured...

HangTime Verses the BOSS
So, my pal @dajukie7 found an app today that has a striking similarity to my recently rejected app “Boss of Toss”. Which makes me wonder, why was I rejected? Do I stink?
Surely Apple’s rejection on the grounds that it may cause damage to the phone applies to everyone. Where’s the justice?
HangTime (see http://iphonehangtime.com/)
It appears that HangTime spent over...

LoveTap Accepted into the App Store!
Finally, the first of three apps, LoveTap, has been accepted into the app store.
Just hours after changing the description for the app, I received an email from Apple saying it had been approved.
As for now, the release date is October 16th but I may move it up. I’ll keep you posted through @bendytree #LoveTap.

LoveTap Denied!
Another tough break for BendyTree apps… the app store denies again!

LoveTap is Submitted!
I’ve just submitted the new app LoveTap. It’s a compatibility test where two people take a personality quiz, then tap phones to see their compatibility.
Special thanks to @TroyCox for offering up the idea!
Let’s hope it has a better fortune navigating the app store gauntlet than BossOfToss!

Boss of Toss Rejected!
Bad news fellow tossees, Boss of Toss has been rejected by the app store. Here’s Apple’s response:
We’ve reviewed Boss of Toss 1.00 and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store at this time because it encourages a physical activity that could result in a customer damaging their iPhone.
Makes sense, really, though I’m a bit...

GeeVee Pro is Ready!
GeeVee Phone Pro is finished and ready for submission. Features include voicemail and recent calls plus all the Lite features.
I’m waiting to submit Pro after I get a response on the lite version… at least that’s the plan now. That way if Apple asks me to change something I can change it in the pro version and streamline its approval.

Stuck in Review
Today is the two week mark of GeeVee Phone being submitted to the app store. Apple says most apps would be approved within two weeks, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here.
Looks like GeeVee is still stuck in the “in review” state. The original launch date has passed so there won’t be a new one until Apple sends a status update.

Boss of Toss Submitted to the App Store
My second app, Boss of Toss, has just been submitted to the app store. Currently, GeeVeePhone is in the pending state which is where it’s been for over two weeks.
Basically it’s a game to see who can throw their iPhone the highest. After you throw the phone it plays a noise based on whether you threw it the highest. If you did, you are the Boss of Toss.
This app has potential for...

Apple Answers the FCC Questions (about Google...
There’s been a lot of news lately about Apple’s rejection of Google’s Voice app (see Apple Answers the FCC questions).
Since GeeVee Phone Lite doesn’t bypass Apple or AT&T’s service, I am optimistic that it will get approved.
The latest news is that Apple has not approved Google’s app because 1) it replaces the original iPhone interface, 2) the app was shady because it uploaded all the...
